When they reach the sidewalk, a blonde haired woman, who seemed to glow in her white dress and robes, came to meet them outside the building. The two women shake hands and smiled friendlily, and then woman in white takes the man by the hand and hails a cab. The other women wears a black Dress Suit, and hails her driver from the other side of the road. She pulls her shades down slightly on her nose and looks over the top of them to wink at the other woman, as they wave good-bye.
As the Ex-wife settles into the back of her extravagant limousine, she makes a call to a friend and invites him to dinner, and says she has an offer he can’t refuse. Her friend agrees to meet her at their favorite restaurant later that night.
The couple in the cab take off into the skyways, and then dock at the orbital Shuttle Pad. As the start grabbing their minimalist luggage, they begin to converse. “You haven’t said a word since we left the courthouse. Are you Ok dear?” The man spoke gently.
“You know at the very least, you’ll get court-marshaled for this. The Data is so classified, that only the highest braches of government and Military have clearance. I myself have only been witness to very small fractions of the data.” her voice was filled with concern, though she knew ultimately that she could not dissuade him from his course.
“The Data sent to the Circinus Galaxy, contained the source codes for every CPU in the fleet, Runa.” he sighed. “They sent those codes directly into the hands of the Asteroth. And now we have evidence that they are returning to destroy us all. It is only through Zack and Sylvia that we will even have a fighting chance, when they arrive. Zack thinks the outpost nearest to Alien Wormhole has been lost due to an incursion already in progress. The Council needs to be made aware of these facts.” he stated bluntly.
“I know. But Sylvia has informed me that she has bought that particular outpost. She has devised a plan that will allow us to gain access to that information without having to break any laws. At it’s source.” she looked deeply into his eyes, until they met his a moment later. “She wants to meet us tonight, for Dinner. She has invited Zack, and says she has a business proposition for you both. I think you’ll want to hear what she has to say.” she smirked.
“We both know I could never deny that woman. She would not allow it.” he returned the smile. “Zack could be useful in that my fathers business Zark Technologies was to be the forefront of technological design and research. Dad always said Zack had a job waiting for him. But I am a Fleet General, I can’t take on a Civilian job.” he paused, to linger in that idea.
“The Council is not set to convene for another 3 days, please just wait until then. I promise you will have a far different approach in mind, to combat these tasks. That is why you have such a keen military mind.” she said as she stroked the side of his brow, and kissed him on the cheek.
He smiled, kissed her forehead and rapped his right arm around her shoulder. “You definitely know how to convince me. Flattery will get you everywhere.” he said as they strolled toward the shuttle terminal.
The terminal they read says: “Earth to Jupiter Station 3 hrs Now Arriving” So they enter the terminal and board the shuttle. They seat themselves in the second compartment on the left, begin to finish the conversation.
“So, I guess she wants to meet at that restaurant she loves so much?” he asked jokingly, knowing he was right. She nodded in agreement, as he leaned in to kiss her gently upon the lips. He reaches over to the wall mounted CPU, and turns down the lights and shades the windows.
A moment later, she moans out his name. “Noah!”
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As Sylvia exits her Limousine outside an Embassy to the Galactic Imperium. She receives a voice call on her holo-log. She taps her left ear and then nods. “Then we have a go!” She waited briefly as she reached out for the door to the Embassy, and then ended the conversation, “Set it up. I’ll be there by week’s end. I just have to rap up a few details here before I go.” Then tapped her left ear again and entered the building.
<<Contract for military design and research. Previously owned by a now powerful politician, who has put the contract up for bid. Politician tries to sell selectively to corrupt corps, but she out bids them when she realizes what’s going on.>>
Scene change…..
Zack arriving at the restaurant. The place has a very San Francisco type of vibe with golden glass windows, and a sidewalk entrance to a spectacular view of Jupiter. Sylvia is already there. As she waves to him from the table he is loosening his flat-end tie. They talk about his job, and her new line of Security Armor and sonic shields. She admits getting the idea from a conversation he and Noah had had about Military Field Armor.
Then Noah and Runa arrive, all parties are greeted, they converse on trivial matters and order their food, w/ wine. After dinner, during desert, Sylvia talks about the Military Contracts she Bid on earlier that day, and the corruption she had witnessed. No one was happy, but nor were they surprised. Noah mentions a similar instance w/ the politician who wrote those Contracts. Runa agrees that the system is being corrupted from the inside, but as of yet there is no hard evidence.
Sylvia offers Zack a Subsidiary Company in the design and manufacturing of these contracts, and says that Noah can be the Chief Military Officer on the project. She mentions the DataStream Wormhole from Circinus would provide ample proving ground for testing prototype ships and fleets in practice and combat scenarios. She smiles slyly at Noah, knowing he was investigating Operations in that Sector of Space, and that this gave him the opportunity to take a more thorough approach.
He thought that her devious smile made him think there was more going on, if he just dug in to find it. As he began to pry, she relinquished a set of folders to each person at the table. Each contained a memory- plaz holo-book, with information relevant to that persons part of the story. She goes into detail about how the Wormhole sits unused but emits pulses of energy, that could possibly be a beacon to the Asteroth.
Zack continues w/ how this is possible and then realizes that the Asteroth Remnants are probably becoming active for the same reason. Noah remarks that he has never witnessed the Asteroth use this kind of technology, and Sylvia says that it may not be, and that the Asteroth are known for pirating technology for their own uses.
Zack doesn’t think the Asteroth would be intelligent enough to figure out that kind of technology unless someone had given it to them with a manual and demonstration. This makes Noah mention that he had heard of a Faction of the Asteroth that were feared even by most Asteroth, they were like a cult. But only when he was being interrogated by one of them. He said that might have been why they fled the galaxy after their defeat at ThegranV. He thinks of the men he lost in that battle. Runa strengthens her grip on his hand, and he regains his focus.
Sylvia ends the presentation by opening the floor to ideas and thoughts. Runa mentions the Outpost and Zack says it would be perfect for his work and for a Military Outpost. And Noah agrees that it could house a number of hidden projects he and Sylvia had already discussed briefly in the past. They all agree and part ways.
Zack makes a holo-log call to his in-home AI, telling it to “start packing, cuz’ were movin’ to the Degaba System (haha!get it? yoda!) .” The next morning he throws his work load at his boss and quits. He kisses the girl at the receptionists desk and walks out smiling.
When he get back home he begins to an analysis on the remnant technologies, from the data he himself had collected, plus the data cube Sylvia had given him for research. He found a resonance tone in the Lower Harmonic Frequencies. Like a hum that you could feel but only barely hear. When he realized the frequency could be channeled into an Artificially Intelligent Entity Crystal that could perform the same tasks as the remnant technology, he discovered that he could reverse engineer most of the remnant technological abilities into a platform that utilizes a more broad range of capabilities.
He began to think of ways to integrate these new technologies into his designs. With the added bonus of now having Sly-Tech. and there new Classified Contract for Sly-Tech Battle Gear and Armored Vehicles, along with Zark Shipyards Inc. who owns a few contracts with every Major Military Faction represented on the Galactic Council, and of course many more under the table, the possibilities seemed almost endless. He fell asleep trying to run out of ways to utilize this new form of technology.
Scene changes to Noah
--------------------------------
As he sits at his desk, he looks at the many Personnel files and Data-port forms that were strewn across his CPU Desk, brushes them to one side and off to the floor. He grabs his chair and turns it toward him, and taps the Plasma Silicone surface noting to himself that it was cold. “No one has been here in six Months.” he spoke literally to himself. But he noticed that Runa was exiting the bathroom in her gown, and had heard him. “She knows I’d have to pull some strings to get that Station as my next Command. You saw her give me that sly look. She’s up to something!” he began to scroll threw the Data cube files and noticed the weapons frequency was similar to the output frequency of the Trans-Matter coils in a Nephyrtirian Combat Fighter.
He waved a pointed finger, signaling for her to approach and see what he’s looking at. He points to the Low Band Harmonics. “We used those same frequencies to feed coolant to the engines in our fighters to prevent cracks in the Injector Casings when we fought them at Torpa VI. That’s why we kept getting run over by their fleets. It wasn’t a flaw in Zack’s engineering. I new he had hit on something with that little break of Genius.” he reaches to the right corner of the desktop and taps the side of a pyramid shaped crystal then turns it 90 degrees to the left and slides it across the rim of the plaz-gel coating and rests it at the center outside position, and places a finger from his left hand on the desktop and draw a 45 degree angle and begins to says Zack’s name.
But before he could even get the name to form on his lips, he feels the gentle yearning touch of his Leonid partners hand stroke her finger down his forearm and across his hand. “You will hear from him by morning. You know he’ll recognize it as easily as you did. He probably even know what is best to do about it. That’s just how he is.” she leaned in an brushed nose against his. “Come to Bed Lover. I have to leave again in the morning. I have to negotiate the Trade Unions Treaties with The Amphibulon Consortium and the Rexa Kitorian Alignment, at Deltrena VII. It’s a long flight, help me relax.”
